Editorial Policy

How PrismGist researches, writes, reviews, and separates official travel rules from editorial interpretation.

Last updated: October 8, 2026

PrismGist publishes travel decision tools, AI product guides and downloadable planning resources. The guides help readers apply official rules, distinguish confirmed product access from reports and compare decisions using their own inputs. Accuracy, transparency, and usefulness guide every editorial decision.

Our standards

  • Primary sources first. We prioritize airports, airlines, aviation and security authorities, regulators, official product-safety notices, and first-party AI provider documentation.
  • Route-specific answers. When a trip involves several checkpoints or operating carriers, we evaluate each relevant rule instead of treating one source as universal.
  • Evidence over assumptions. We do not present an unsupported claim as a fact. If official guidance is unclear or unavailable, the tool returns a cautious result and directs the reader to the responsible authority.
  • Clear attribution. Sources and verification dates are shown where they are most useful to the reader.
  • Material review. Maintenance checks target relevant source changes and known errors. A verification date identifies what was actually checked at that time; it does not mean every source or related page was rechecked. Earlier reporting is labelled as historical when current facts change.

Official rule versus editorial interpretation

We summarize official language in plain English and may combine several rules to produce a route-level result. We label or explain this interpretation when it could affect the outcome. The original authority remains the final source of truth.

AI assistance and verification

PrismGist uses AI assistance in research, drafting and maintenance. AI output is not a primary source. We compare material factual claims with the full relevant official source, separate reporting and interpretation from confirmed facts, and record unresolved limitations. Calculation checks use stated inputs and expected outputs; resource checks include opening the downloaded file. A written guide is not a claim of firsthand testing unless the actual test and its scope are described.

AI-generated illustrations are labelled where used and are not evidence of a real product screen, event or hands-on experience. The PrismGist Editorial Team byline identifies the site’s editorial work; it does not assert professional credentials or a named expert panel. These standards describe the verification process, not a guarantee that every existing page is error-free or continuously current.
