Short answer: the lowest fare shown first is not always the cheapest fare for your trip. Compare two fares from the same airline, enter the prices currently on your booking screen, and add only the bags and seat you actually need.
Same-airline fare comparison
Which fare is actually cheaper?
Enter the two prices shown by the airline, then add only the bags and seat you need. PrismGist does not guess live fares or add-on prices.
How this checker works
The calculation is: fare price per traveller × travellers, plus the add-on prices you enter for required features that are not included. A blank add-on price stays unknown; it is never treated as zero. No currency conversion is performed.
Official fare sources
Entitlements last source-checked 2026-08-26. Airline products can change; verify the live booking screen before paying.
What this checker can — and cannot — decide
The checker compares two fare bundles from one supported airline: Ryanair, easyJet or British Airways Euro Traveller. It calculates the booking total for one to nine travellers using the fare and add-on prices you enter.
- It does not search flights, scrape airline sites or fetch live prices.
- It does not compare different airlines or convert currencies.
- It never assumes a blank bag or seat fee is zero.
- It keeps flexibility, boarding and other soft benefits outside the arithmetic.
How to get an honest result
Open the airline’s booking screen in another tab and enter both fares for the same flight. Select only needs that apply to every traveller. Where the checker asks for an extra fee, copy the current per-traveller amount. If the amount is not visible, leave it blank: the checker will show what is still unknown or calculate a break-even point where possible.
Why fare names are not enough
Fare bundles can include different combinations of cabin baggage, checked baggage and seat selection. Some also carry timing limits or non-price benefits. A bundle that costs more initially may be cheaper after required extras, but a benefit such as flexibility should matter only if it has value for your trip.
Not sure whether an item belongs in cabin or checked baggage? Use the Flight Item Checker. For airline power-bank restrictions, check the Power Bank Flight Checker before packing.
Frequently asked questions
Does this checker show live airline fares?
No. You enter the two current prices from the airline or booking screen. PrismGist does not use a live fare API, scrape availability or guess dynamic add-on fees.
Why does a blank extra fee produce an incomplete or break-even result?
Blank means unknown, not free. When one fare still has an unknown required fee, the checker may show how high that fee can be before the other fare becomes cheaper. Enter an explicit zero only when the booking screen shows no charge.
Can I compare Ryanair with easyJet or British Airways?
No. Version 0.1 compares two fares within one airline. It is not a route, schedule or cross-airline flight comparison service.
Does the result value flexibility or priority boarding?
No. The arithmetic uses only fare prices and the required add-on prices entered. Relevant flexibility, boarding and timing notes appear separately so you can decide what they are worth.
